CRF COLAC & COLAC OTWAY WORKFORCE
Enterprise Bargaining Negotiations
Negotiations to renew the current Enterprise Bargaining Agreement which covers employees of CRF and COW will commence in the first week of October.
Prior to that first meeting the Union will be holding meetings with all employees to determine their views on what we will be seeking in the new agreement.
With the anti-worker legislation the Howard Government is about to bring into the Parliament, it is vital that you have a properly negotiated enterprise agreement that protects and improves your current working conditions.
The Union looks forward to fruitful discussions that will deliver a satisfactory outcome to all parties.
Union Membership
The best way to protect and improve your conditions is by everybody becoming a member of the Union. The Union offers the following services: Negotiating your wages and conditions; Representation in all industrial matters; Job security through representation in unfair dismissal proceedings in the Industrial Relations Commission; Advice and representation in WorkCover matters; Access to legal services through the Union office including a free Will making service; Low cost Superannuation through the Meat Industry Employees Superannuation Fund (M.I.E.S.F.) Confidential advice and representation on sexual harassment ; Discounts and savings with Union Shopper; Lower interest home loans and banking through Members Equity.
Union dues are tax deductible. It is the cheapest insurance you can get.
Wages and conditions in non-Union workplaces have fallen behind those with Enterprise Agreements negotiated for workers by workplace representatives and their Unions.
Union fees are paid by Direct Debit. Membership forms can be obtained from your delegates Tyler Holt (Processing Floor) and Geraldine Jansen (Further Processing), or ring your Union Organiser Jim Brittain on 0417 590889.
I have an office at 13 Murray St Colac (Stringer Clark building) if anyone wants to call in and see me or collect a membership form.
